Finance Committee: Members of the parish are appointed by the Pastor to develop and manage the parish budget, monitor plant maintenance, implement parish development programs, and advise the pastor and staff on financial matters as required. The Finance Committee meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, 6 times per year at 7:30pm in the Board Room. Contact the parish office at 432-6224 for more information.
Garden Club: This group plants and cares for the rose bushes, perennial, and annual plants around the parish buildings. We also water these plants and tend the gardens. Contact Carol Underriner 330-3947 or email@example.com.
Gift Card Program: Cards from grocery stores, restaurants, and retail stores are purchased at a discounted price then sold at full value to raise funds for St. Richard Parish. Contact Tony Meluso at 567-5563 or Julia Stagner at 324-6604.
Grieving Committee: This group is open to all in the parish who wish to minister to family members after the death of a loved one. They may act as greeters at funerals, help prepare and serve funeral luncheons, and keep in touch with families after funerals. Members of this committee provide materials and resources for families to help them deal with grief in the months after the death. The Grieving Committee will be offering group support sessions twice a year, in the fall and spring. For dates of these sessions, watch the bulletin. Contact Kathy Reznikov at 313-3121.
Help Line: To help members of the parish in emergency situations, e.g., transportation, cooking, funeral meals, visiting, etc. If you need help in an emergency or wish to donate your time please contact Kathy Peters at 569-0678.
Parish Council: The Parish Council is a consultative body made up of a diverse group of parishioners. Its purpose is to advise and assist the pastor in the pastoral care of the parish. The Parish Council meets on the third Wednesday of the month, September through June at 7 pm in the Chichester Room. Please call the parish office at 432-6224 for more information.
Parish Guide Book and Directory: An annually updated directory of all the schedules, activities, and parishioners of Saint Richard Parish. Contact the Parish Office at 432-6224 for more information.
Parish Website: The Saint Richard website is designed for the purpose of promoting and supporting parish life (service, spiritual, and social). Primarily focused on the needs of St. Richard parishioners, the website also provides visitors a vehicle to learn more of St. Richard Parish. Pictorial Directory: This directory is an album of parishioners with their photos, names, addresses and phone numbers. It is usually published every 5 years. Our next Pictorial Directory will be in 2018. Anyone interested in organizing this project, please call the Rectory at 432-6224.
Pro-Life: The Pro-Life Ministry is dedicated to prayer, service, and education. There are many opportunities for individual and parish family involvement. Please read the bulletin and/or notices in church about upcoming events. Contact Fr. John Seper 432-6224 ext. 223.
Saint Vincent DePaul Society: We meet on the second Thursday of the month at 7pm and hold discussions concerning the needs of our less fortunate clients. We offer compassion, financial aid, and other resources to people who struggle to meet their daily basic needs. Home visits and telephone interviews determine needs such as electric and gas bills, clothing and household items, and at times, someone just to listen. Our conference is also involved in various other ministries. You are invited to attend a meeting and to consider becoming member of our SVDP Team. Casserole Program: Last Saturday of the Month – Parishioners prepare and serve a meal of salad, chili, cornbread, and dessert at St. Vincent de Paul Parish (downtown) to homeless and poor clients. Our Parish is now in the 28th year of this service. This is a very enlightening and fulfilling service opportunity. Contact Jane Kreher at 993-6134.
Sandwich Program: November through March – Parishioners make sandwiches twice monthly on Mondays for the men’s shelter at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Sandwiches are given to the men as they leave in the morning. Good project for children to assist.
Stewardship Committee: An organization of volunteers which investigates ways for parishioners to donate their time, talent, and treasure to the community at large, and organizes Stewardship Sunday once a year in September. Contact the parish office at 432-6224 for more information.
Welcoming Committee: After they have registered in the parish, a committee member meets with new parishioners after Mass or at a mutually convenient time and place, to give them a welcome packet provided by the office. Contact the parish office at 432-6224 for more information.
